2025 Event Schedule
DEFENSE OF THE ANCIENT CITY
January 24-26, 2025 - St. Augustine, FL (US)
Hosted by the Liberty Guard, participants will represent companies of the 24th Massachusetts in garrison at St. Augustine and Fort Marion in 1864.
WINTER 1864: POINT LOOKOUT
February 21-23, 2025 - Point Lookout, MD (US)
The Liberty Rifles will once again host an immersive event recreating the garrison of Point Lookout in early 1864.
Compelled to Yield: 160th Appomattox
April 11-13, 2025 – Appomattox Court House, Va.
The Liberty Rifles and 1st Section, in partnership with Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, will be hosting this living history event to commemorate the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Appomattox and the subsequent surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia. Aside from both U.S. Army and civilian impressions, we will be recreating several Confederate units to full scale, to include both the remnants of a mounted artillery battalion, as well as heavy artillery equipped as infantry.
The Irish Brigade at Gettysburg
July 2, 2025 – Gettysburg National Military Park, Pa.
In partnership with Gettysburg National Military Park, we will be representing the 69th New York Infantry for a "Real Time" ranger-led anniversary battle walk. We'll be portraying the severely under-strength Irish Brigade and their battle experience in real time.
Picket Post
July 25-27, 2025 – Virginia (CS Infantry and US Cavalry)
We will be hosting this full regimental scale, hyper authentic, *OPPOSED* immersive event in Virginia. We'll be portraying the 17th Virginia Infantry on the picket line in the face of U.S. Army Cavalry in July 1863.
Chickamauga
September 19-21, 2025 – Chickamauga, Ga. (US Artillery)
We will be representing a section of US mounted artillery with 1st Section.
REMEMBRANCE DAY
November 15, 2025 - Gettysburg, PA (US)
Once again we'll take to the battlefield to follow in the footsteps of a specific U.S. Army unit. Following our program we will join in the annual parade.
2026 Event Schedule
Winter Quarters 1864
February 19-22, 2026 – Along the Rapidan, Va. (CS Artillery)
A hyper-authentic 4-day soldier life experience event recreating the Fluvanna Artillery to full scale in their February 1864 camp. From Thursday to Sunday we will follow an original battery’s hours of service to the minute—every Stable Call, every drill, every Reveille, Retreat, and Tattoo. By Sunday we’ll be as close to a functioning Civil War artillery battery as is possible in 2026.
